Night Owl

Each evening a bird lover, Tom, stood in his backyard,
hooting like an owl. One night an owl called back to him.

For a year, Tom and his feathered friend hooted back and
forth. He even kept a log of the "conversation."

Just as he thought he was on the verge of a breakthrough in
inter-species communication, his wife had a chat with her
neighbor.

"My husband spends his nights calling out to owls," she
said.

"That's odd," the neighbor replied, "so does mine."

Two Landscapers

Another joke from GCFL. I haven't posted a joke since the first post on this blog.

Two landscapers were working diligently alongside the streets of a huge office complex. One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind him and fill the hole in.

They worked up one side of a street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, one guy digging a hole, the other guy filling it in again.

An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting into your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?"

The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-man team. But today the guy who plants the trees called in sick."

I'm in Waterloo!

Long story short, I decided to visit Waterloo this week. So Ambrose brought me up today, and I'll be here until, I think, Wen brings me back on Friday. And then we'll watch Serenity that weekend too.

So, I'm up here now, on alan's computer, while he's out. Oh, and I'll blog for him one of these days, just you wait. Other things I'll do include being with friends, hanging out with VSA, eating chicken wings, and much more. Anyway, we're expecting Wen to come over any minute now, so that's it for this update.

Irrational Fear

Yesterday night, after turning off my computer, and I headed toward the bathroom in the dark – I realized I had an irrational fear.

It’s really odd! Before I didn’t understand irrational fears, but when you have one, it changes things. Okay, I had this irrational fear for a long time (at least 10 years), but only now do I realize I have it. And I can take a guess on where it evolved from.

I was shopping with my mom, and we went into some clothing store. Being uninterested, I just walked around, or being small, I probably walked around pretty fast. Anyway, long story short, I run into a glass wall. I hit my head. And this is where my irrational fear comes from:

Fear of hitting my head into something I can’t see. Thus, late at night, if there are no lights on, I am very extra careful. I have one hand out, to reach walls or railings, and the other hand is either looking for the other wall, or it is RIGHT IN FRONT of my head. No, not 2 feet away, but like, half a foot away. It’s as if something might attack me, that my hand 2 feet away can’t stop but something half a foot away might stop.

Also, I walk really slowly and really cautiously, so that my hand can catch everything. Take for example, this concrete example:

You know in the old house, the portion of ground between the bottom of the basement stairs, and the big room? Okay, it used to be a bit more cluttered, but the comparison is the same. In pure daylight, you can “navigate” that portion in 2 seconds. When it’s dark and the lights are off and I can’t see a thing, it takes me 2 minutes to get from the big room to the bottom of the stairs.

I think I’m also scared of running into doors that are open/ajar. That also hits your head. Anyway, so that’s my irrational fear.

Graffiti Kingdom - Video and Pictures

David was wondering if I would post pics, so here are about 65 pics:

Graffiti Kingdom - picture page

I also took some video. I have two versions of this video, the long version (33 min) and the short version (14 min). Right now I only have the short version uploaded (22mb), which highlights the bosses. The other version has more on the locations, other fights, and characters, including some other ones I made up that I didn't fight bosses with. You can download the short version here

Short video WMV.

The quality's pretty craptacular. Oh well.

Movie Technique: Dropping

Pretty random topic, but a question. Okay, sometimes you/I would remember a certain scene in a movie, or watch it over and over because it has such a great effect. Maybe the camera zooms out in such a neat way, or maybe the character spoke some very moving dialogue.

This technique, I have seen and liked in two pieces of work; first, it was in FACE/OFF, in the first 20 minutes; and now it’s in Gankutsuou episode 21. They are scenes of about 3 seconds long, and for some reason… it’s so strong. What is it?

Dropping. Letting go of something that’s important. In FACE/OFF, when Nicolas Cage was in the hangar, he took a guard’s shotgun, and later there was a scene where he was walking and he held it sideways (so from atop you can see the whole shotgun, side view) and then he dropped it straight down. Afterwards he reached for his second pistol and started firing.

Anyway, so… he dropped his gun quite gracefully. He just… dropped something, and for some reason that seemed like a very powerful piece of art.

In Gankutsuou (I’ll be very non descript, so I don’t spoil anything), this guy was holding a very important cloth with a family insignia on it to prove that he was indeed his father’s son; and then when he went to hug him, he walked, and slowly dropped it out of his hand and reached for something else.

Dropping… such a powerful technique – I don’t fully understand why – but it’s so graceful. I guess it’s something about the peacefulness of letting go. Do you… think that this “dropping/letting go” thing is powerful? Do you feel it?

::edit - I think it also has to do with the motion of the object. Because it was in slow motion in FACE/OFF, the shotgun had a gracefully slow acceleration, almost constant speed - but very slow, like it was flying down. In Gankutsuou, it was a piece of cloth and naturally floated slowly down. I guess this freedom, plus this slow movement together feels more... graceful.

CSI Las Vegas and Job Hunting

Ooh, I got butterflies in me stomach. I just applied for a job online – isn’t that scary? Anyway, I just went ahead and did it.

Anyway, today saw Season Premiere for Joey, that was pretty good. Then of course came Season Premiere to CSI Las Vegas. See, CSI Miami chose a big case for a Season opener – going up against the biggest gang in Miami, the Mena-noches or something. For CSI Las Vegas, the case seemed pretty mild, but then it became bigger and stuff – but still, the cases weren’t so interesting. However, they did a lot more focus on the characters of CSI; Warrick got married, Nick still has thoughts of the Season Finale last time, and Grissom is still studying the Season finale.

So that was pretty interesting. Anyway, that’s all for now.

I wonder if I get hired… now I play the waiting game… or I should find more jobs to randomly apply to. Just like for co-op at school, there’s no loss in applying for all jobs, right? Even if you don’t think you are suuuper qualified for it? So maybe I’ll get addicted to applying for jobs… won’t that be fun.

Invasion: Martha Stewart

Before the main subject, Jeopardy has been quite interesting lately. The ~20-day Champion David Madden has been defeated with about 400,000 by a young smart woman named Victoria. And then the next day, the final clue was a daily double, which allowed one guy go from 4200 to 7200, while the other two people (Victoria included) were at 13,000 and 11,000 each. Of course, as you’d expect with the lead-in into the story, the 7200 got his question right and proceeded to kick Victoria off. And then today that guy lost.

Then I watched The Apprentice: Martha Stewart. I guess it’s not so bad. Some cute girls too. And the one I wanted to vote off did leave, so that’s good. I usually happen to catch one or two episodes of each season of the Apprentice. I’ll watch it again tomorrow, the one with Donald Trump.

And then CSI NY wasn’t on today; nooo, it was invaded by Invasion, so we watched that instead. It’s not bad. In other words, I’ll watch it again next time. It’s like they’re taking a movie and spreading it across many, many episodes.

So it starts off kinda like Independence Day – a bit of panic all over – a guy with a job, his girlfriend somewhere, some kids, some different jobs with different people, different ways of life. In Independence Day there was the President and his wife, and there was this dude with his ex-wife – here we have a guy and his ex-wife, and his lover and her lover, and some kids in the middle. So in this episode, things were just stirring up, and some alien speculation is there, but nothing too conclusive. I guess I’ll have to wait for the story to progress.

CSI LV Season Premiere tomorrow. Joey too. CSI NY next week. Serenity movie September 30th. Ravnica Draft October 8th. And maybe sometime I should go spend a week in Waterloo; won't that be grand?

Final Fantasy VII: Last Orders

FF7 Lost Orders is a single episode, 2D anime ova. At first I wasn’t sure what the timeline was, but after watching the whole thing I think it’s about Final Fantasy 7, and a little bit about the 5 years preceding FF7. Well, for the FF7 part, it’s only the few minutes surrounding the time when Sephiroth burned the village and went after Jenova in the mountain. And the part before FF7 was with Zack and Cloud, and at the end they started heading toward Midgar in that truck.

It would’ve helped if I played the game again before watching this, but that’s okay – it’s a 25 minute anime, and I recovered the story parts which I might’ve forgotten, so it’s okay. It’s just the confusing thing where Cloud pretended he was Zack or something in FF7, I forget that whole ordeal.

Anyway, it’s half an hour long, it’s okay. You don’t see all the characters, just Zack, Sephiroth, Cloud, Tifa, and a few Shinra/Turk crew. It’s nothing compared to the new 3D Advent Children, but you might as well watch it. Characters and voices look much better in the 3D version though.

CSI Miami

That was a wonderful weekend. Must’ve played about 9-10 hours of Graffiti Kingdom, and now I’ve beaten it, but I can still level up, and walk around and re-fight bosses and stuff.

Watched 7th Heaven for the first time in >5 years today. Oh my, have those little kids grown. Beverly Mitchell’s still a cutie, and that young girl’s in highschool or now. And then today I saw Prison Break, which seems like a pretty good show. Wish I’ve started it from the beginning though.

And then just now, I watched the CSI: Miami Season Premiere. The story this time was okay; although now that I think about it, it would’ve been cool if this Mean-Nachos gang stuck around for several episodes or jumped around across a few episodes like a couple CSI:LV themes did (Paul Milander, Blue Paint, etc).

Anyway, the good news is Emily Proctor (Calleigh Duquesne) and Boti Ann Bliss (Maxine Valera) are back. Man, they have this new lab, it’s so sweet looking. And they have this new DNA person too, she’s quite cute too. Anyway, now I’m glad to be able to see a new episode of CSI every week… or technically, THREE new episodes of CSI every week =)

Subway Diet

No, no, no subway diet. But I’ve been to Subway twice this last week – I like Subway, but it’s sooo darn expensive, for any sub, compared to any burger. Until now. Like McDonald’s and Burger King, Subway now also has its daily specials, one different sub every day of the week; 6-inch subs for $2.99, combos for $4.99. This is nice. Thursday I had a Turkey and Ham sub, on Parmesan Oregano bread, toasted, with cheese and lettuce, tomato, cucumbers and the Chipotle sauce. Today… well, it was kinda a cop out, cuz today was just Turkey breast and no ham – but it’s still good.

Anyway, this weekend was fun. Everyone came back from university, every came over, like a Reunion. Well, everyone except Hawk, Ray, and David. It was fun. Anyway, gonna watch Family Guy in a few minutes, play more Graffiti Kingdom, and then CSI Miami season premiere tomorrow.

I can’t…
I can’t save anyone, I don’t think.
Family or friends...
No one.

Brave Fable about the Lad’s Revenge on the Dark Republic Kingdom

Graffiti Kingdom, bought Tuesday, started Tuesday, played 3.5 hours so far, but the file says I’ve only played 1:25
KOTOR, bought a few months ago, played 3 hours before, this week played an additional 1.5 hours
Phantom Brave, started yesterday, played for 2 hours
Fable, started yesterday, played for 1 hour
Dark Cloud 2, started today, played for 1 hour; 35 minutes of that was playing, 25 minutes of that was watching; also, I got Game Over at 4 minutes :P
Arc the Lad, started today, played 1.5 hours, mainly because there was no save point between 0:48 and 1:19
And Burnout Revenge, bought today, started today, played 2.5 hours.

Now I can be in one of those awkward conversations that go something like

Guy at party: Hey, have you played Dark Cloud 2?
Bao: Yeah, but only for an hour.
Guy: Why? You didn’t like it.
Bao: No, that’s not it. I just didn’t have enough time.
Guy: You didn’t have enough time?
Bao: Yeah, I had too many games to play.
Guy: Oh…. Okay….

Quick summaries…
Graffiti Kingdom, simple gameplay, bosses also simple (but still fun), main part comes in the creation of characters, and leveling to get better functions
KOTOR, good, flexible system based on d20, works nicely, story compelling
Fable, so far feels like MMO + Tutorial, I’m probably not far enough to start being a very dark-side person. But it’s fun firing short bolts of lightning aimlessly and having everyone cower in fear.
Dark Cloud 2, not bad, graphics sorta like Tales of Symphonia style (3d, and 3d differently coloured for characters), fighting isn’t so interesting yet though, kinda like Kingdom Hearts
Phantom Brave, probably not as interesting as Disgaea, turn based; story probably good though
Arc The Lad, actually not too bad – fighting is quite similar to Phantom Brave, or things like that… walk around, line up enemies so you can hit them with arrows and special attacks, etc…

And lastly, Burnout Revenge. Bought it today when EB got it in, and it’s sweet. At first, It didn’t feel “that” much better than Burnout 3, and it is a bit different… but after a bit of playing, it’s awesomely much more stylish, and a lot of fun too. Wouldn’t sell Burnout 3, I would keep both in my collection; some parts in BO3 are still better. Also, I made a new custom soundtrack cd which works well with Burnout Revenge.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

FF7 Advent Children is good. Really good.

Okay, it’ll be cliché for me to say “It’s the best movie EVARR!!” so I won’t. But it is pretty good. And it’ll be mean for me to just try and critique the whole movie, but… it has to be done, doesn’t it?

Graphics: Amazing. Square has done it again – while the characters may not look ultra-realistic, they’re very nicely done. They sorta do look like real people, but you can tell they’re not real. I don’t think Square was aiming at that, since it is in a fantasy world – as long as they don’t look cartoony.

Music: Sweeet. It’s always nice to hear FF7 tracks remixed or different – so now we have to get the OST. And by get, I mean download, when it’s available.

The story’s not too bad. Some parts don’t make sense, and it might require a second viewing, but that’s okay. Also, physics are all off, this being a fantasy world and all. There’s a lot of action in this movie. Maybe too much action.

Action is one of those things 3D is good at. With all the fast moving cameras, erratic movements, a lot of flying objects – that’s something 3D excels at, that real life or regular 2d animation may have a harder time expressing. So, because Square was using a 3D medium, they used it well to show what 3D does easier than non-3D – as I said, the action scenes. So there’s a lot of action.

Effects are nice. It would be again cliché to use the term “Matrix-like”, because it’s not really Matrix-like, it’s just “slow-motion”, which is nicely done.

Would it be cliché to say it’s my favourite anime? Well, it’s not; it’s not even anime, but it would almost go in the anime section, or the anime movie section. If that’s the case, it’s pretty high in the anime-movie section. It’s good.

There’s only one part I didn’t like. That’s the last 10 minutes of the movie – the ending credits. Sure, the music of the first part was good, but I think they copped out – they should’ve showed more scenes of the story. The “floating letters” felt out of place and didn’t have anything to do with FF7. Then the second part of the ending credits… also felt out of place. I’m not sure what that part was about. I guess it was a “just for fun” bit that Square put in.

Vincent’s so awesome. Tifa was pretty awesome too. I liked how everyone had a part in it. Even the dead ones had some cameos in flashbacks or whatnot.

=-=-=
In other news, yesterday, in SW:KOTOR, I fed Rancor the cheapest, most cowardly death ever.

Graffiti Kingdom - Bringing things to Life

Oh god, Graffiti Kingdom is so much fun!

At first, you tell yourself, it’s a novelty; you get to make your own guys, and then put them in the game and control them. Most of the time you might make an existing guy from another game just so you can play with them.

But then… it’s not just a novelty. Because you make a guy, you become… attached to it – you molded it and assembled it, gave it a personality of its own, and… then it comes to life! It’s a lot of fun in that respect. The game doesn’t seem too complex, and also the default character, the Bear, he’s totally awesome. I think he obsoletes my other characters, so I feel bad for using him sometimes because he’s just too omni.

Anyway, so I started playing it, and after I learned to draw, I made my first “accident”. My first creation was a mistake, but it’s still in my game, do you know why? Because I made it, and now it feels special to me. Anyway, in case you’re wondering, I tried to make a copy of my sidekick, Pastel. While I was drawing it, I was hoping “Oh god, I hope I don’t mix up the head and the tail.”

Turns out I mixed up more than that. Now my guy walks sideways. Yes. The side of the body is actually the front of the character, so my dog just runs sideways all the time, and he attacks to his side. It’s such a mistake, but it’s so memorable so I keep it with me.

What a great game.

Gone the way of the Hawk...

And your primitive notions of modesty…

Jason has a gamecube memory card but no gamecube.
Isaque had gamecube games but didn’t have a gamecube until later.
Isaque has xbox games but no xbox.

And now, I have joined the ranks – I have bought Graffiti Kingdom for PS2, and we technically don’t have one. Well, we have Jia’s PS2 here – and since Hawk has 2 PS2s, he’ll have one in Mac and one at home, and Jia is near Hawk, so Jia doesn’t need his PS2. And Wen and Ambrose have PS2s, so Duy says he doesn’t need Jia’s either, so we’ll keep that here.

And over the past few days, I went to blockbuster and bought MegamanX5, Parasite Eve 2, Cool Spot goes to Hollywood, Jackie Chan – Stuntmaster, Dragon Valor, VIP, and Omegaboost – each for 99 cents! I also bought 2 third-party PS1 memory cards for $1 each.

99 cents… can’t go too wrong, right?

Anyway, off to play some GK now!

(P.S. - VIP sucks!)

Poker

This is my 10th post on this blog! =) Anyway…

I stopped playing poker in April, 2005. Before then, for a while, I would play poker regularly – online and offline – and most of the time I was down. With that in mind, I thought it would be good to quit.

However, I still had some money in my online poker accounts (I have an account at two different websites), so I kept it there. For one, I can’t take out less than $50 at a time, and one account didn’t have $50, and the other account I just kept the money in there… I also had “bonus” points, which I have to redeem by depositing more money to get more “bonus” dollars. I’ll get around to that later.

Anyway, so yesterday at 9:30 pm I decided to try it out. I played the tiniest stakes possible, and I made 2 cents in 10 minutes. At this rate, I can do this for 12 cents per hour… that doesn’t sound like a very rewarding job…

Anyway, now that Duy’s in Waterloo, I’m still here… Sleep, Games, Work, Exercise, Chores, Food, Hobbies… nothing quite specific yet, but I’ve got plenty of these to do.

Just a Mental Note

Simpsons Season Premiere tonight
Family Guy Season Premiere tonight (American Dad too, but I don’t watch that)
CSI: Miami Season Premiere Monday the 19th
CSI: New York Season Premiere Wednesday the 21st
CSI: Las Vegas Season Premiere Thursday the 22nd

Oh, and I thought I would be heading out to Waterloo today around 3:00 pm, due to something my mom said last night. My bro was witness to that, but turns out she said the wrong thing. So now, chances are we’ll be heading to Waterloo around 5:30 pm. We’ll get there at 6:30. No way we’ll be back in ‘sauga before 8:00, so we’ll have to watch Simpsons and Family Guy in the ‘loo.

Garbaage Sale

There’s a garage sale next door. Boy, I haven’t been to a garage sale in years. Yes, I used to go with my family, every few weekends during the summer, driving around to maybe 8 different places each of those days. We’d pick up junk, toys, pretty marble figurines, and the occasional videogame. I guess we grew out of it.

Anyway, so I was about to go to this one, but my mom said she checked it out earlier this morning, and the house is owned by these 2 grandparents and another 2 people with babies, so there’s nothing interesting for me. So, with that in mind, I’m still sitting here, hair uncombed, just sitting here, working on my… secret “non-3dsmax-related” project…

Needing Computer Help

Okay, so this 3ds max book is much better than the other book. I was understanding it well, and I’m progressing pretty gradually, but… now I’ve hit a snag in the road. A little bump.

Actually, it’s not a little bump, but rather, a major catastrophe. Not only can I not continue in my book, but I can no longer work with 3dsmax 6 at the moment. There’s something wrong with the program, or with Windows, probably due to Viruses and Spyware, in addition to codec problems. I can no longer save my rendered video files, which I need to do in order to progress with this book.

And darn, I was doing so well with the book too. Maybe I’ll reinstall 3dsmax 6, but I don’t think that’ll help. Someone come fix my computer. Pleeeease…

If at first you fail miserably...

Today I was supposed to head down to Waterloo with Duy and Alan, clean stuff up, move stuff around in the house, let Loren in… but unfortunately, Alan and his two parents didn’t have enough room for me in the van, so I was left here in ‘Sauga. Being just myself and my sis at home, I decided to spend my free time doing something more productive.

So I open up a 3dsmax book I bought a few years ago. A few minutes and half a page later, I was done with the book. The book was useless. Maybe it’s because it’s aimed at experts. Maybe it’s because I started at chapter 7. Either way, the book wasn’t helping me one way or another. So I gave up.

Back then when I gave books a chance, I bought two. Now I’m back home, and I’m going to try the other book, which is definitely easier to understand. I remember trying it out back when I had 3D studio max 3; the book was aimed for Studio Max 4, so I had a really hard time looking for tools and features not found in max 3.

Now? I have max 6. I hope this will be a pleasant experience.

The portions were small, proportioned in craftfully divergent and complementary sensations, decorated like little dollops of sculpture. I struggled not to lick my plate, and settled instead for licking my fingers. I looked up to see Pish and Duncan watching me. "What did you think of that, Mr. Fell?" rumbled Duncan.
I licked my lips and closed my eyes. "I think I shall spend my entire life in debt to you for what you have given me tonight, no matter what I do."
Duncan's furry face split into a wide grin. "That's what food is for. Mere nutrition is for squirrels."
"I feel like I have a new religion," I told him.
"I'm glad to do it for you, Mr. Fell." He stood up and wiped his hands on his pants. "Lest I forget how," he added cryptically, collecting the plates and disappearing into the kitchen.
"My dad is the best chef in the galaxy," Pish told me.
"That is obvious to me," I agreed.

Wheee, haven't seen such a good Jackie Chan movie in years...

And it’s been a while since Die Another Day. If you like James Bond and Jackie Chan, you’ll like Jason Statham in his newest, Transporter 2.

Where to start? Jason Statham’s back as a Transporter. The first movie was fun. This movie is also fun. And also very thrilling. It’s mostly action, with its good mix of a bit of funny here and there. It’s like, it’s serious enough to be serious, but then it has these, over-the-top, impossible moments – where you have to say “that’s impossible!” – but then you take it and just enjoy the movie.

Jason Statham’s the man. He doesn’t die. He dodges bullets. He takes out foes as easy as pie. He avoids cops like crazy. He advances menacingly. And here, he’s a lot like Jackie Chan and James Bond – always looking around, making the best of the situation, using tools around him as weapons – jumping on cars to get onto rooftops, using firehoses as weapons – all that stuff that James Bond and Jackie Chan does, but with less gadgets and more bullets.

His voice is nice too. The gritty good guy voice.

Anyway, the movie is totally entertaining. Plot is alright, stuff is cliché sometimes… the bad guys always have the main big boss, the henchman, the tank, and the psychotic 2nd last boss femme fatale.

Picture quality is good, effects are well done. Some parts that are definitely fake are definitely fake, and you just accept that. Anyway, if you like James Bond, Jackie Chan, and Jason Statham, you should see the movie. I like those 3, and I like the movie. I’ll give it a 7.7/10, maybe more.

Commercial Men - part 2

Ya know what? That Oliver dude that buys Jewelry in those movie commercials doesn’t bug me anymore. It’s kind of funny that he’s still doing it over these few years and always has the same commercials.

I’m not sure if I care about that Ikea guy. Ya know, that guy who says “Bon Appetit.” Yeah, that guy. On the radio. He doesn’t bug me too much either.

Bad Boy. NOOObody! That slogan’s pretty old now. Old and corny, and then the guy disappeared for a while, and then he came back. I do like, however, that right after he says “nooobody”, he smiles – the kind of smile that says, “I know this is old, and isn’t it funny that I’m still doing it?” – so it looks like he knows that it’s old. Kinda like when the guy says “Can you hear me now?” – he says it in a sarcastic kinda fashion, whilst knowing that the “Can you hear me now” commercials were deemed bad.

But do you know who I don’t like? Do you know what grinds my gears?

The Alexander Keiths guy. The Scottish dude that keeps screaming. He bugs me now.

Commercial Men, part 1 of 2

The other day I saw the funniest commercial. Maybe not as funny as the “18 tables in one”, but quite funny. Had me laughing for a while.

It started out in a hockey locker room, and the little kid points at his skates and says to his dad, “this one is too tight, and this one is too loose.” And then the camera turns and on the next bench, there’s THE CANADIAN TIRE GUY and his son, and the guy is turning a knob on the skates that tightens the skate for you, and it has notches or whatever so you can always tighten it to the correct amount for each skate.

OMG, that was funny. Jia’s always been saying that the Canadian Tire Guy is THE MAN. He takes a menial task, and then he ADDS MORE POWER, the way Tim Taylor would do on Tool Time, only this time it works. When Jia sees him, he’ll ask for his autograph. And he’ll probably use a solar-powered hydraulic super pen to write it.
