Week of Gaming (from other blog)

(I can't seem to post to my other blog right now, so I'll put this here for now)

First of all, thanks for all the comments, all the verbal support for my goals =) Hopefully in the upcoming weeks and months we can start seeing some improvement toward my goals, and we can start doing other stuff than videogames. Speaking of which, Jia has now fallen in with the WOW group… so we’ve lost another. Oh well. I don’t think I’ll start, since it doesn’t help any of my goals (I don’t think it counts as socializing more).

But, before we get started on being social and less games and stuff, we have this week, where people are done or finishing exams, and then some people going back to school the week after. So, this week is pretty much “gaming” week. Who needs sex when we have games? … … umm, never mind.

First, Duy’s back, Alan’s back, and Jason’s back. David has a couple exams left and will be done Thursday (I don’t know what time), and Jia will be home Tuesday night, and thus probably at our house from Wednesday to Friday.

As far as I know, this is how this week looks like:

Tomorrow, Monday, we’re having friends over. I’ll take a day or half-day off work, and one priority of today is some Magic. I think I heard that Jason asked Duy if he wanted a draft – I guess he misses it – so we’ll be doing that tomorrow. I hear Jason, Alan, maybe Wen, and maybe David are coming so far, and Vinh will be home in time for the draft, so that should be good.

Nothing Tuesday.

Duy’s real birthday is on Wednesday, so we’ll do family stuff on that day.

Thursday, Duy will have his birthday party. I hope David will be done on Thursday early enough for that. Bring girls. Or not.

Then there’s Friday the 28th. There’s SOME EVENT that SOME PERSON really wants us to go, so I guess we should go to that. If we could arrange transportation, that’d be cool.

Apparently I’m taking 3 days off work this week…

Anyways, Saturday we’re all busy with a WinMagic training session my mom arranged for the whole company. No Jia, you’re not part of the company, unless you want to pay to come =) And thus, that’s why I said Jia will be with us Wednesday to Friday. Actually it may look like Thursday to Friday… or Tuesday to Friday? Ehhh… Maybe Jason wants to stay over sometime during the week too? That’d be cool. He can help me get some plantinum medals.

And then Sunday, Duy and the other Waterlooer’s have to get back to the ‘Loo.

And that’s it for that week. The weekend after comes a new Magic expansion, so there will be a draft. Also, anyone up for M:I:III?

Awesome video

That scott guy had this snafu-comics link on his vg-cats website, which had this video here:

http://www.snafu-comics.com/?strip_id=220

It's like, 20 breakfast machines. You should watch it and comment. Vinh and I liked it.

bibliotheque!

The "Bibliotheque!" commercial is the best commercial on tv right now.

If you haven't seen it, you're missing out.

Stolen Turkey

Ooh, someone responded to the math thing. Anyway, I'll post another problem that I Haven't solved yet... in a few days. Gotta go to work now, see ya.

-------------------

Ducking into confession with a turkey in his arms, Brian said, "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. I stole this turkey to feed my family. Would you take it and settle my guilt?"

"Certainly not," said the Priest. "As penance, you must return it to the one from whom you stole it."

"I tried," Brian sobbed, "but he refused. Oh, Father, what should I do?"

"If what you say is true, then it is all right for you to keep it for your family."

Thanking the Priest, Brian hurried off.

When confession was over, the Priest returned to his residence, and found that someone had stolen his turkey.

Winx, Bionicles, McSocks, and Math

Just an update with 4 random things.
a) I know of the Winx club, and the other day I watched a whole episode. They're quite sexy =)
b) Lego is expensive, but sometimes I buy the bionicles. It's like a bundle of joy, not too expensive, and it's fun. It's one of those rewarding experiences, when you follow the nicely illustrated instructions. It makes you feel good when you successfully complete a piece. I like bionicles =)
c) We went to McDonald's the other day, and there was a sign that says that you can buy socks at McDonalds.

and lastly, as part of this math party thing, I think I'll put up bi-daily puzzles from the math contests. So, here is a question which I haven't solved yet:

Fermat (Grade 11) 2004, #22, Calculators permitted:
If k is the smallest positive integer such that (2^k)(5^300) has 303 digits when expanded, then the sum of the digits of the expanded number is
a) 11 b) 10 c) 8 d) 7 e) 5

good luck! and hope you have fun. I'll try to solve it too.

April Fools

April Fools was sorta plain this year. First, it fell on a Saturday, so we weren't at work or anything, and people can sleep in so noon came pretty fast - also, I didn't have any jokes planned. What did you do on April Fools?

Anyway, the folks at GCFL gave me this link to the April Fools wikipedia which has a good list of all the things that happened around the world on April Fools. Check it out here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_1%2C_2006

Aside: I think it's odd that nobody comments here (not including David's comment which I just found), but then people still read this blog every now and then: First,
a) Duy doesn't have TV, but when he came back last he mentioned American Inventor and the stuff about a stick, which I blogged about - so he does read it. Secondly,
b) The other day my dad and Vinh were laughing together at the counting joke I posted. And
c) David mentioned the 'tiny-monster' link I put up yesterday on his blog.

So, I guess that's okay.

Crazy Food Picture

On Xbox 360, you can put in your own background image. So I put together two images that I had. Isn't it the craziest background you've seen?

Look at that! My favourite things! Lobster, Shrimp, Pasta, Chicken, Ribs, Ice Tea, and Chalet Sauce. Nicee, isn't it? My xbox makes me hungry now.
